Nadine Sures is a transdisciplinary artist and performer originally from Canada, currently living in Doha.
Nadine has worked professionally and internationally as a performer, director, producer and teacher/coach for over 20 years. Recipient of the Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award, Nadine established herself as a performance artist in Montreal and Beirut by showcasing her own creations across Canada, Europe and the Middle-East.
Nadine graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta BFA Acting program in 1999. From 1999-2009 she collaborated as a performer for directors/choreographers Deborah Dunn, Lin Snelling, Robin Poitras, Pamela Newell, Nathalie Claude, Bill Glassgo and the Montreal Young Company, Emily Johnson, Stéphane Roy, Alexia Bürger, Unithéâtre, National Arts Center (Canada). During that time she began her own creative work; conceiving IN SITU performances and cabaret style pieces in Montreal.
She was a co-founder the RAIQ, Quebec Interdisciplinary Arts Network and has worked as a peer assessor for the Canada Council for the Arts and the Quebec Arts Council.
In 2011, Nadine moved to Lebanon where she developed her practice in improvisation and site specific performance. Her work is whimsical, queer, and imbued with dark humour. Language, sound and movement are deconstructed and crafted in an instantaneous composition that questions the status quo of traditional artistic forms.
She works as a performing arts teacher at ISLQatar and offers individual and group classes in physical theatre improvisation and public speaking.
